CoRe Wins The 4H Of Nürburgring!

The fourth round of the Sports Car Open 3 season was taking place at the Nürburgring for a four hours race. Janne Kiuru and Sindre Setsaas, who were racing in the CoRe GTE entry, won the race in fantastic fashion after starting the race in 3rd. Pascal Stix and Maxime Pauly, who had the pole position in the HPD P2 class, had to retire the car to due several incidents.

It was a great start by both CoRe SimRacing teams – Pascal was able to create a small gap in his HPD and went ahead to take the lead in the opening minutes of the race. Janne, who was starting the race in the CoRe BMW, had a safe start as well – nevertheless a contact in turn one made him spin which made him lose a few positions as a result. The incident gave the GTE guys 21 seconds in optional repairs but luckily the damage did not affect their pace that much. Pascal on the other hand had trouble with traffic – after exiting the Schumacher-S he ran wide through the grass – the HPD bounced off and slammed into the side of a GTE. Couple of laps later, Pascal was involved in another incident with an LMP1 and another GTE. The car suffered too much damage, it then ended the CoRe P2 entries’ race.

Sindre was taking over from Janne after two hours race distance. With a little of tyre and fuel strategy involved, Sindre was able to reach the top of the GTE field and showed great performance overtaking the cars in front. With SimRC and Williams JIM Esports behind after taking the lead, Sindre brought home the victory in the GTE class, securing great points for the GTE squad.
