SCO3 R3 Review

Pascal Stix Leads CoRe HPD Team To Sebring Victory!

The third round of the Sports Car Open 3 season was taking place at Sebring for a long and tough eight hours race. CoRe SimRacing and its’ two squads including Pascal Stix and Maxime Pauly in the HPD and Janne Kiuru with Sindre Setsaas in the CoRe M8 GTE, were competing to grab another bunch of points. While the LMP2 team brought home the victory, the GTE guys had to suffer an early DNF due to a traffic accident at the start to finish straight which ended their journey.

Pascal finally grabbed a pole position this season in the HPD class category against SIMMSA and RevMatch Esport. He immediately went away and opened a small gap until the first traffic came along on the Sebring race track. Janne, who was starting the CoRe GTE entry, was able to stick with their position in the Top-10 zone after the first two laps – but got involved in a massive crash in Lap 4 caused by an LMP1 wave on the start-finish line. CoRe veteran Janne Kiuru could not do much after his BMW got hit by a passing LMP1 which sent him straight into the pitwall.

The sun was about to go down and a nice sunset appeared over Sebring. Maxime was taking over from Pascal who saved himself from a death spin losing time to the opponents. The HPD squad was able to recover from it by taking the lead again after Pascal jumped in again. A solid drive by both of them let the team advance the lead. With safe traffic management, keeping a cool head and focusing on the pace, it was Pascal who crossed the line as a winner after a long eight hour journey.
