CoRe With Second Podium Result At Motegi!

It was a rollercoaster ride in the nation of the rising sun – the four hours of Motegi were up on the Sports Car Open’s third season calendar and CoRe SimRacing was able to secure their second podium result of the season in the HPD field. Sven Neumann and Maxime Pauly secured a 3rd position in LMP2 while Sindre Setsaas and Carl Jansson finished in a provisional 5th position after many battles, incidents and dubious situations. Despite post race decisions need to be announced still, the CoRe GT squad missed out a possible fight for the podium.

Sindre qualified in a solid 6th position with the CoRe BMW M8 GTE car. Maxime, who was doing the fast lap for the CoRe HPD squad, had to start the from 4th. The race began in the night which was later on going into a sunrise towards the early morning. Sindre opened a fight with Vendaval Racing in front while the teams Biela Racing and SimRC were lurking – that made several position changes due to traffic happen. Maxime was able to advance to P2 for a short period of time after few HPD teams suffered incidents. A double stint later in GT, Carl took over for a single stint. A hefty rejoin by the Triple A Ferrari in the last turn could have ended Carl’s early stint. Sven meanwhile was defending the different pitstop strategy by Devotion and had to settle in P3.

Sindre was going for a hunt against Biela Racing, SimRC and Vendaval. He was able to advanced to P4 after numerous breathtaking fights, but nevertheless was caught in an incident involving Pure Racing Team’s LMP1 entry. The contact made Sindre fell back to P6. A questionable incident with Biela Racing shortly after let Sindre finish the race in a provisional 5th. Sven crossed the line in 3rd and secured the second HPD podium of the season.
